  Can I Change German consulate area of jurisdiction for employment contract?

  I have recently gotten a PhD contract in Economics at TU University starting from 12 September but the latest booking date for visa (employment contract) in Bangalore VFS office is on 17th august. So can I book my appointment at the German consulate in Kolkata given that my area lies in Bangalore German consulate area of jurisdiction?
