  How to collect passport from embassy & what is processing time?

  I have applied for FRV from the German consulate Delhi and got stamped type D on my passport.
  My wife, who is a German citizen, got an e-mail from auslanderbehorde which says the visa is of 3 months but according to my knowledge it should be of 6 months.
  Now the German consulate is asking to submit my passport and health insurance for their decision on my visa in VFS.
  Normally it should be done at the embassy?
  Also pls, guide how much time it takes to take the decision and return me the passport ?
  Can I collect my passport personally from the embassy or will the vfs do the rest of the process?
