    Is German health insurance mandate for D category Vis (blue card)

    Hi All,

    For applying for a D category visa application for the blue card do I need to have a German health insurance?
    Can I submit international health insurance from one of the Indian insurance companies?
    One more thing, do i need to submit the health insurance along with the visa application or can I have it after I arrive in Germany?

    HI,

    I did International Student insurance from HDFC ERGO for hospital and other general insurance policies. It paid around two and half lakhs per year. You can check it.
